Feel Good with a Tupperware Fundraiser

Expert AuthorHave you ever done a “random act of kindness” and experienced the good feeling that comes from giving? Perhaps you paid at the toll booth for the car behind you. It feels good to give when you are not coerced to do so.

Many people would like to give, but their finances are limited. They may have a giant-sized heart with a dwarf-sized pocketbook.

Giving Circles

I read recently about a new trend called “Giving Circles” that makes it possible for even those limited in funds to have the joy of giving. A giving circle is established by one or more people who want greater involvement in their giving.

1. A group of teachers bands together to help a local charity. They raise money for that one charity on a regular basis.

2. Members of a local teen club raise money for a local family whose home was destroyed by wildfire.

3. Children in a local school help local families who are poor. No one child can give much, but as a giving circle, they can raise a lot.

Tupperware Fundraiser

Tupperware fundraisers are good for giving circles seeking ways to raise money. Tupperware fundraisers have the backing of a well-known organization. Tupperware fundraisers have the help of a Tupperware distributor. Tupperware fundraisers offer durable, reputable products.

One giving circle of which we read raised more than $15,000 with a single Tupperware fundraiser!

Enlist Help

Giving circle members do not have to do all of the work themselves. If the cause for which you are holding your Tupperware fundraiser is a worthy one, you will find many people who are willing to help. Simply ask neighbors and friends if they would be willing to give up a few hours toward helping that local family who lost their home. Explain your purpose to colleagues on the teaching staff – or at the office. You will find that many people want to feel good by giving, but have limited resources.

Tupperware “Parties-with-a-Purpose”

Your Tupperware fundraiser may take the form of Tupperware parties scattered across your community. Invitations state that the party’s purpose is to raise money, and states the specific local need toward which proceeds will go.

Tupperware Sales

If parties are not convenient, carry out your Tupperware fundraiser through door-to-door sales. Get permission to set up a table at a local mall or in front of a local store. If your purpose is clearly charity, you should have no trouble.

Tupperware Dealer Appreciation

Expert AuthorRegular readers know that I am not a Tupperware dealer. I have never been a Tupperware dealer. I have no friends or relatives who are Tupperware dealers. I do not even know a Tupperware dealer.

However. I read recently (September 2007) of a Tupperware dealer who deserves a vote of appreciation.

Tupperware Dealer’s Wish

The Tupperware dealer, Jennifer Schultz lived in Ontario, Canada. The mother of two volunteered at her children’s school, helping with a variety of tasks. She noticed, one day, that the children were bringing lunches to school in poor quality containers, paper bags, and other items. Lunches could hardly be kept clean and safe in some of the containers. Added to that, the school was starting a “litter less lunch” program. Items such as those disposable paper bags would create a lot of litter. The Tupperware dealer wished she could provide all of the children with Tupperware lunch containers, but that would cost thousands of dollars.

Write Your Wish

The Tupperware dealer had decided to attend the annual Tupperware Jubilee held in Orlando Florida during the summer. All attendees were asked to write out their wishes before attending, so Jennifer wrote hers. She didn’t wish for a diamond ring, a new car, or a vacation. Instead, this caring Tupperware dealer says, “I wrote that some of the Kids don’t bring nutritious lunches or litterless lunches and we’d love to have Tupperware containers for the school.”

Tupperware’s Magic Wand

Jennifer Schultz got her wish. Hers was one of three $10,000 wishes granted by Tupperware. Now each child who attends the school where this Tupperware dealer volunteers has a new lunch container. The shipment arrived early in September, and blue lunch boxes were handed out Monday. Each was personalized with a child’s name stenciled on the front.

Environmentally Friendly Tupperware

The school’s principal and staff have been trying to raise awareness about how much litter students generate with lunches. They then wanted to couple action to the awareness. The lunch boxes are a big lesson in litter reduction.
The principal states that recent research she read in “Canadian Living” magazine indicated that each student will generate 67 pounds of trash per year. Environmentally friendly Tupperware can cut that amount greatly.
“We want to make them aware of how much garbage they’re generating and put their lunches in the reusable containers,” said the principal, Jackie Frank.

Vote of Appreciation

Jennifer Schultz, Tupperware dealer, gets our vote of appreciation. In addition, Tupperware gets a similar vote for choosing such an altruistic wish from the 1,400 wishes submitted.

Teen Tupperware Party

Expert AuthorYou read that correctly. I made no mistake. “Teen Tupperware party” is exactly what I intended to write.

Why would anyone have a Tupperware party for teenagers? Teenagers don’t own homes. They often work hard to avoid putting away leftovers – unless, of course, they can put them away in their own stomachs. Many want nothing to do with cooking or a kitchen. So why schedule a teenagers’ Tupperware party?

Reasons for a Teen Tupperware Party

There may be no reason great enough for some teens. For others, however, a number of reasons would interest them in a Tupperware party.

Most teens love parties. The trick is to present party ideas in a way that will allow teens to accept them as their own. Drop hints, or write subtle notes to put the thought in their minds. If you are a Tupperware dealer, have your own teen or a teen you know brainstorm with you. Here, in random order, are half a dozen ideas you might subtly suggest for a teen Tupperware party.

1. House-warmings: If a teen’s family is moving into a new home, his or her friends could have a teen Tupperware party to “warm” the new home with good will in the form of cards and Tupperware orders.

2. Teachers’ Thank You: A beloved teacher may be retiring, going on sabbatical, or celebrating some other milestone. A teen Tupperware party is an opportunity for teenagers to show appreciation to the teacher in a concrete manner.

3. Mothers’ Gifts: Teens often wonder what gifts to give their mothers for Mothers’ Day or other holiday. Organize a teen Tupperware party and they can shop together for those gifts.

4. Friends’ Weddings: Many teenagers have friends who are getting married. Scheduling a teen Tupperware party gives them a reason for a party while letting them shop together for wedding gifts.

5. College-Bound: Teens going to college will have many uses for Tupperware products. A teen Tupperware party makes it easy for them to get Tupperware for microwaving snacks in dorm kitchens or storing things in dorm rooms.

6. Right Now Benefits: A teen Tupperware party can benefit teens from 13 through 19 right now. Lunch boxes, microwaveable dishes, and drink containers are all things teens want and will use. A teen Tupperware party lets them share the excitement and choose together.

More than Kitchen Tupperware

A teen Tupperware party can feature kitchen Tupperware products, but there are other products that teens will love for their own personal use.

Think of all the uses teens can find for Tupperware. What teen bedroom couldn’t use Tupperware Storage? Rectangular “Modular Mates” can corral CD’s, DVD’s, personal grooming items, and more. Stacking canisters will keep track of pencils, pens, markers, high-lighters, sticky notes, paper clips, and other study supplies. Candy dishes and other containers keep snacks fresh and on-hand.

Helpful Tip

Give a group of teenagers a handful of Tupperware catalogs and challenge them to come up with creative uses for the products. By the time they finish, they will be ready to consider a teen Tupperware party.
