Tupperware Dealer Appreciation
Regular readers know that I am not a Tupperware dealer. I have never been a Tupperware dealer. I have no friends or relatives who are Tupperware dealers. I do not even know a Tupperware dealer.
However. I read recently (September 2007) of a Tupperware dealer who deserves a vote of appreciation.
Tupperware Dealer’s Wish
The Tupperware dealer, Jennifer Schultz lived in Ontario, Canada. The mother of two volunteered at her children’s school, helping with a variety of tasks. She noticed, one day, that the children were bringing lunches to school in poor quality containers, paper bags, and other items. Lunches could hardly be kept clean and safe in some of the containers. Added to that, the school was starting a “litter less lunch” program. Items such as those disposable paper bags would create a lot of litter. The Tupperware dealer wished she could provide all of the children with Tupperware lunch containers, but that would cost thousands of dollars.
Write Your Wish
The Tupperware dealer had decided to attend the annual Tupperware Jubilee held in Orlando Florida during the summer. All attendees were asked to write out their wishes before attending, so Jennifer wrote hers. She didn’t wish for a diamond ring, a new car, or a vacation. Instead, this caring Tupperware dealer says, “I wrote that some of the kids don’t bring nutritious lunches or litterless lunches and we’d love to have Tupperware containers for the school.”
Tupperware’s Magic Wand
Jennifer Schultz got her wish. Hers was one of three $10,000 wishes granted by Tupperware. Now each child who attends the school where this Tupperware dealer volunteers has a new lunch container. The shipment arrived early in September, and blue lunch boxes were handed out Monday. Each was personalized with a child’s name stenciled on the front.
Environmentally Friendly Tupperware
The school’s principal and staff have been trying to raise awareness about how much litter students generate with lunches. They then wanted to couple action to the awareness. The lunch boxes are a big lesson in litter reduction.
The principal states that recent research she read in “Canadian Living” magazine indicated that each student will generate 67 pounds of trash per year. Environmentally friendly Tupperware can cut that amount greatly.
“We want to make them aware of how much garbage they’re generating and put their lunches in the reusable containers,” said the principal, Jackie Frank.
Vote of Appreciation
Jennifer Schultz, Tupperware dealer, gets our vote of appreciation. In addition, Tupperware gets a similar vote for choosing such an altruistic wish from the 1,400 wishes submitted.
