Old Tupperware Recipe for Cranberry Mold
My late mother-in-law introduced me to this delicious Tupperware recipe. It was one of her favorites, and quickly became one of mine as well. She had other Tupperware recipes, but this is the one I liked best.
This mold features cranberries, making it perfect in the winter. Mother and I both liked it too well to save for winter, though. Even at festive summer picnics, we would often serve this bright red Tupperware recipe.
Ingredients
* 2 cups water
* 2 pkgs. (3 oz. size) cranberry flavor gelatin
* 1 cup cranberry juice cocktail
* 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
* Red and green grapes or parsley for garnish
* 2 medium pears or apples, cored and chopped
Chopping Your Fruit: Fruit that is chopped just before adding to the gelatin retains its fresh color.
Instructions
1. In a Tupperware “Rock N Serve Mug”, with red vent seal securely in place, microwave 2 cups water on high until boiling.
2. Carefully remove from microwave, open seal, and stir in gelatin until completely dissolved, about 2 minutes.
3. Pour cranberry juice cocktail into a large Tupperware bowl. Add ice to equal 1 and 3/4 cups.
4. Stir warm gelatin mixture into cranberry juice until ice is dissolved.
5. Chill mixture until slightly thickened, about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Mixture should be about the consistency of unbeaten egg whites when chilled enough.
6. Spray a Tupperware “Jel-Ring Mold” with non-stick cooking spray, and wipe smooth with paper towel.
7. When gelatin mixture has thickened, gently stir in your chopped pears or apples, and walnuts.
8. Pour gelatin into prepared mold, seal, and refrigerate until gelatin is firm - several hours or overnight.
9. To serve your Tupperware recipe, remove the seal and carefully un-mold onto a serving plate. Fill center with garnish.
Old Tupperware recipes may slip into the back of a drawer, but they are never less delicious. If you have another Tupperware recipe you like, but cannot find directions for it, don’t give up. It may appear on this very site before long.
