Where Can I Find a Replacement Lid for Tupperware?

Expert AuthorWhen you buy a Tupperware product, whether at a party, on a dealer’s Internet site, at a fundraiser, or from the main company web site, you get two strong guarantees.

1. Lifetime Guarantee: Every Tupperware product is guaranteed not to chip, crack, break, or peel under normal non-commercial use. This guarantee is good for the lifetime of the product.

2. Quality Guarantee: Every Tupperware product with a “Q” symbol on it is guaranteed to be free of manufacturing defects. This guarantee is good for 1 year from the date of purchase.

What to Do – Lifetime Guarantee

Suppose you have a 10-year old lid that cracks, or a 15-year old peeling lid. Where can you find a replacement lid for Tupperware that is old?

To get a replacement lid for Tupperware that has been damaged in normal use, all you have to do is call Tupperware Customer Care. Their U.S. toll-free number is 1(800) 366-3800. Tell the customer service person you need a replacement lid for Tupperware, and give her the mold number. See explanation below as to where to find this.

If the exact lid you need is unavailable, you will receive a comparable lid, or credit toward future Tupperware purchases. The lid will be free, but you will pay shipping and handling charges.

What to Do – Quality Guarantee

Suppose you just bought a Tupperware canister set, and one lid is defective. How can you get a replacement lid for Tupperware that is defective?

To get a replacement lid for Tupperware that is defective, contact Customer Care at 1(800) 366-3800 within 1 year of the time you bought the product. Tell the customer service person you need a replacement lid for Tupperware that is defective, and give her the mold number.

If the exact lid you need is unavailable, you will receive a credit toward future Tupperware in the full amount of your purchase, or a refund of the full purchase price, whichever you choose.

What to Do – Beyond the Guarantees

Suppose you lost a Tupperware lid, or damaged it in a way not covered by the guarantees. How do you go about getting a replacement lid for Tupperware in that case?

Contact your Tupperware Consultant, or call Customer Care at 1(800) 366-3800. Tell the customer service person you need a replacement lid for Tupperware that is not covered by the guarantees, and give her the mold number. You will have to pay for this replacement lid, including shipping and handling.

How to Find the Mold Number

Before calling to request any replacement lid for Tupperware, you will want to locate the mold number on the product. Every Tupperware product has a two-part number stamped on it. The mold number is the first part, before the dash. Use this number when calling a consultant or customer care.

I have had approximately a dozen Tupperware lids break on me over the last several years. When the first one broke, I contacted a consultant in our community who I had ordered from in the past; she told me that since I did not purchase the broken product from her, she could not replace it, but would I like to purchase other items?? Would I like to host a party?? Needless to say, I have not ordered from her anymore.

I have been tossing out all the broken lids, and even one entire container, slowly replacing my items with Rubbermaid from the stores, not as good quality as Tupperware, but, hey, if Tupperware doesn’t last forever anyways, why not.

Last month I decided to check out the Tupperware website, something I had not thought of before, to see if anything could be done with my most current broken product. I spent about a half hour on the site, trying to find the part I needed, to no avail. Then I found a phone number and called just to explain my dilema. WOW! What a pleasant surprise when a very polite, understanding operator answered and helped me out. Since the piece I needed is no longer available, she offered to send me a whole new container and lid, for only the cost of shipping. I was shocked at how wonderful my experience was just by calling the phone number!

I now have a new product and will once again purchase Tupperware.

I have a canister set that is over 25 years old and all my lids had split. I called the 1-800-366-3800 customer service number, gave them the info and had my lids within a week. I had to pay $5.00 shipping fee but it was worth it to get my lids and be able to use my canister set another 25 years.

I have a pitcher, the thin one that is oblong like the modular mates. Blue top. The snap on round opening cover cracked and I need a plastic round cover that snaps on the lid. The pitcher is about 20 years old and I love it since it fits in my fridge. I can’t find a number on the piece. I would like to obtain one.
